DR & Resilience Testing

Comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity testing to validate failover capabilities, RTO/RPO compliance and overall resilience.

Overview

DR and resilience testing validates disaster recovery plans, business continuity capabilities and system resilience. We test failover procedures, recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives.

Testing Areas

  • Disaster Recovery Testing: Validation of DR procedures, failover processes and recovery workflows.
  • Business Continuity Testing: Assessment of business continuity plans and operational resilience.
  • Failover Testing: Testing of automatic and manual failover procedures, failover time and data consistency.
  • RTO/RPO Validation: Verification of recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives against targets.
  • Resilience Testing: Assessment of system resilience, redundancy effectiveness and fault tolerance.
  • Resilience Scoring: Overall assessment of disaster recovery and business continuity maturity.

Scoring Output

  • Resilience Score (0–100) — Overall resilience and DR capability rating
  • DR Readiness Score — Disaster recovery readiness assessment
  • RTO/RPO Compliance Rating — Recovery objective compliance
  • Failover Capability Score — Failover and recovery effectiveness
  • Business Continuity Rating — Business continuity maturity assessment
  • Benchmark Comparison — Industry and peer comparison

Common Challenges

Issues organizations face that drive the need for independent assessment

Untested DR Plans

DR plans exist on paper but have never been tested — actual recovery time and data loss are unknown.

Outdated Recovery Procedures

DR documentation does not reflect current infrastructure, applications and dependencies.

RTO/RPO Uncertainty

Business has defined recovery targets but IT cannot demonstrate ability to meet them.

Single Points of Failure

Hidden dependencies and single points of failure that would prevent recovery are not identified.

How AssureSQ Helps

Independent testing, scoring and improvement guidance

DR Plan Assessment

Review of disaster recovery plans, procedures and documentation against business requirements and industry best practices.

Failover Testing

Controlled testing of failover mechanisms to validate actual recovery time and data integrity.

Dependency Mapping

Identification of all system dependencies, single points of failure and recovery sequence requirements.

Resilience Score

Quantified score covering DR plan completeness, testing history, RTO/RPO capability and recovery procedure maturity.

Frequently Asked Questions

It includes DR plan review, dependency analysis, failover testing, backup validation, recovery procedure walkthrough and measurement of actual RTO/RPO against targets.
We design tests to minimize disruption. Many tests can be performed on DR systems without affecting production. Failover tests that require production involvement are carefully planned and scheduled.
Full DR tests should be conducted at least annually. Critical system failovers should be tested quarterly. DR plans should be reviewed after any significant infrastructure change.
